1st semester - Building Plot and 1-2 storey
Your 1st semester project is a "single-family house" and all
aspects relating to situating the house on a plot, specifying and
arranging rooms, selecting materials, building services, costing,
time management etc.
The project work is divided into 2 parts.

2nd semester - Land plot and single family

The overall theme in the 3rd Semester is "Industrialised
building design", and this theme will define the framework for the
projects to be carried out by the students. Similarly to the
previous two semesters, the predominant work method will be project
work - carried out as group work whenever possible.
4th semester - Multi-storey buildings
The overall theme in the 4th semester is 'Multi-storey buildings
with dwellings and commercial units' in 3-4 storeys, and this theme
will define the framework for the projects to be carried out by the

Remodelling'. The theme covers substantial changes of the
functions, construction principles and material composition in an
existing building including civil engineering works.
6th semester - Individually chosen building
The overall theme for the semester project is an 'Individually
chosen building project'. Contrary to previous semesters you will
not be given a common introduction to the project (in the syllabus
or elsewhere). It is the idea that you should carry out an

Your dissertation is the final one of a series of electives -
3., 4., 5. and now 7. semester.
The dissertation should express the extent to which you are able
to undertake and complete a problem-related dissertation of your
own choice. It should result in your gaining more extensive
knowledge of a specific subject in your education. It should also
document your abilities in written communication.
The Final Design Project is the final part of your education and
should give the impression of the multi-disciplinary nature of the
